Effort Leads To Success

This is the one thing, that is not focus on enough in sports. Its all about putting in more effort then winning. The reason is, if you get caught up in winning at all cost, you will usually take some short cut or even cheat yourself, put if you decide to put all the effort you can to achieve your goals, you will find it more self rewarding and your self-esteem will grow. Effort really does lead to success, look at where you are right now, if you haven’t reach your goals or you don’t like where you are, its because you haven’t put in the EFFORT. I myself am still working on this and trying to get myself to give more effort, in everything I do. Taking responsibility, is the first step toward your success, stop waiting for someone to come and help you, just give more effort. If you are in the habit of making excuses , stop and think about how you can  put more effort in next time. To be honest we already have every thing we need to reach our dreams and goals, now we just have to believe and put fort more effort in every area of our lives. This is what the self-help gurus don’t want you to know, because they want to keep on milking you guys, I think once you really open your eyes, you will see that if its going to be, its up to me(thanks Brian Tracy).Action tip, come up with a plan to give more effort to every thing you do, weather its being a better person or player, just give maximum EFFORT from today. Force yourself to do it, then watch as you become unstoppable in every phase of your life. God bless you.

Think Upward

Today tips is quick and to the point, change the way you see yourself as a player. Start to look at your game, as the way you want it to be. Decide  what type of players you want to become, by getting a clear vision, in your mind. Then always see yourself a little higher up, in your life, this mean off and on the court. Now as I have said before, just act like you are already that player. WALK<TALK<and MOVE like you think that player would, now what you will see, is that you will become that player. Its that simple really, it amazing why more people don’t get this. When you turn into that player, keep thinking upward and tap into that power within to reach your full potential and go where no player has gone! Stop all negative thinking about your game, if you do find yourself thinking negative, don’t get angry, just refocus, in time you should be able to control your thinking. Thinking upward seem to neutralizes negativity, and I think this is a very powerful mind-set to develop. So, get started today and let me know how it turns out.

Have Fun

If you are having fun, your feel for the game should be getting better every time you play. I really think this is why most kids get BURNT OUT at a early age, because the parents and coaches take all the fun out of the game for them. So, make sure you are enjoying yourself when you play or take a break from the game. In my case my dad made the game fun and he always said tennis is meant to be fun, so don’t take the game to serious. By taking this approach when teaching us, we were able to develop a passion for the game. I was always thankful how he taught me and I plan to do the same with my son. Tennis is a sport were the more passion and effort you put into the game the more you get out. Having fun also help you to relieve the pressure and stress that juniors and adults face when playing. My action tip for you is,to smile more on the court and start enjoying the learning process, by not taking it to serious, when you find yourself getting angry, just step back mentally and have a good LAUGH! That should help you to have more fun when playing tennis, man i love this sport.

Every Point Matters

Yea, every point should be played with all your effort then, release it and focus on the next point. This is called staying in the moment  and maintaing a since of control. Never take off on any point, the pros don’t and thats why they are the best. Lets copy them, by training like this and bringing a great attitude to the court. This will see you be able to take a giant leap forward in your game. It will also neutralize your fears and nerves, which often have a way of effecting our game. So, from today, start focusing in on playing every point, as if it were your last, then release it and get ready for the next point. Push yourself to put forth more effort on every point, BE THERE. This is like putting your heart and soul into your game. The results will be AMAZING!

Daily Dose

If you want to reach your peak as a tennis player in less then 4 years, here is what you should do. Figure out the daily things, you can do everyday to get better and reach your goals. Write down your goals, map out a plan and check to make sure, that you are doing what you need to do to get there. Also get around people who are going to help you and inspire you to be the best. This one thing can do wonder for you. Its all about staying focus, because most of us are easily distracted by outside forces, so we need to create or get in a environment  that will help us. The DAILY DOSE mantra is powerful because, what you are doing is slowly building  up your game, step by step, feeling more confident as you go along. Then one day you arrive at your GOAL and then you can scream YES,I DID IT. So, go get your notebook, and write out a daily dose plan and keep updating it , also revising it as you go along. The one thing you have to decide is to COMMIT yourself, after that its a done deal. Good luck.

Be a Conqueror

Hey guys, the weather here in Kobe is horrible, so Im getting some writing done. Todays tip, is how to get stronger mentally. I really believe its your mindset, that you take to the court. Some players, you can look at and know they are a CONQUEROR, because they carry themselves, in a way thats shows how confident they are. While others look defeated, before a ball is struck. The question is, how do you attain this mindset, first thing is you have to deepen your self-belief and work on your attitude. It comes down to a question of weather you believe in your powers or not. My advise is get a positive attitude and a strong belief today, even if you have to force yourself. Its to important to your career, not to have it, this also pertains to off the court, you will only go as far as your self-belief will take you. Yeah, now you see how important it is. Most people don’t succeed ,because they never took the time to develop a strong belief system and a positive attitude, the good news is you can change today, through WILLPOWER. Start reading positive books and get around positive people, stay away from negative people at all cost. Stop talking to yourself in a negative way, affirm that you will become the player and person that you want to become. Keep at it until you feel yourself changing inside, then its just a matter of waking up every day and going through the whole process again. This should help you to start feeling in total control of your surrounding and become a conqueror.  To become a conqueror, you have to act like one and you MUST believe that you can become one. Like the saying goes( believe, then achieve)

Your style

Its important from the time you start playing tennis to develop your style of play. This is going to be your own uniqe way of playing, try to adopt and adapt from pros that you like to watch. But, make sure that you make it  feel like you own it after. Tennis is an art, so, what we are doing as players is trying to express ourselves. The great thing about this is when you understand it,you will be able to do it. Tennis like life, is about self-expression, anything that doesn’t allow you to do this, will only cramp your style. Just get creative and make sure you have the freedom to create the style of play that you want. Give yourself time too, this shouldn’t be a problem, because you must have a passion for the game. Please don’t try to force a style, just let it develop on its own. Okay, until next time, get out there on the court.
